This morning we went to visit Mom.  It is the first time I have seen her since the stroke on Easter Sunday.  She's still recovering from the exertions of the move, so she's pretty wiped out.  But I was so pleased that she recognized me and we had a brief and totally coherent conversation.  Actually since I only got a few hours of sleep last night, I'm pretty sure she was more coherent than me!

But she's frail.  She drifts in and out.  Her strength is depleted.  One of the staff, a really sweet gal named Lisa, effexor alternatives, came to talk to us about Mom's likes, hobbies and interests so that they will know what sorts of things they should talk to her about.  (I thought that was totally cool.)  As we started listing things, it struck me that Mom has really embraced life.  Her interests are wide and varied.  She has been a lifelong learner, always stretching her mind and knowledge.  She's been a God follower and a discipler.  She's incredibly creative.

Looking at her as we talked to Lisa, listening to her talk (sometimes randomly), seeing sparks of connection, Effexor xr review, I was hit by how in her current state, Mom, who loved life and looked forward to heaven, is somehow stuck straddling heaven's gate.  She's in a position where she is able to truly enjoy neither.  What a tough place to be.  And yet during all this time since the stroke, she has not complained or grumbled.  What a truly amazing woman.

We don't know what the near future holds for Mom, but we do know that it is immediately better at Bethany, and will ultimately be best in Glory.  Our selfish desire is for more years of loving and experiencing life with us.  That's all in God's hands ... no better place to be, side effects from effexor.
