Effexor And Sexual Desire

Effexor and sexual desire, I'm not talking about $3 a gallon gas, although that is a subject I could rant about.  Yesterday I saw a station with regular for $2.73.  I got so excited I nearly caused an accident.  There's something seriously wrong when $2.73 a gallon seems like a good deal.

No, this post has nothing to do with money.  It's about what it costs to follow God.  We would like to think that saying "yes" to God is the equivalent of saying "yes" to the good life.  Well, it is a good life, but it's not necessarily an easy life.

I think about middle school and high school kids who say yes to God.  It can cost them popularity (an important commodity in the life of someone bursting with hormones).  It might cost them opportunities to hang out with friends.  Oh, other opportunities will open up to them that will probably be even better than what they gave up.  But at 15 or 16 years old, Comparring cymbalta with effexor,  its hard to have that kind of long view.

A group of 12 of our high schoolers from our church left yesterday for a ministry trip to work among the East Indians in London.  They gave up there first two weeks of summer vacation to go work with and for others.  Some of their friends probably think they are pretty strange!  They are paying one of those costs of following God.

In our 30 years in ministry with Wycliffe we have seen many of our colleagues pay heavy costs for the sake of translating the Bible into previously unwritten languages.  Just recently I learned of another friend whose family just paid a traumatic price though an assault on a family member.  Makes one wonder if the cost is too high.  This family has touched the lives of many language groups who today have the Scriptures.  If they had not followed God into ministry, those people might still be Bibleless.  I'm sure the speakers of these languages are grieved by the cost to our friends, but they would probably say that the cost, though great, was worth it for the eternal value it has brought to them.

When I was 18 and considering going into ministry, my pastor gave me a verse from Luke 9 .., effexor and sexual desire. "No person who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of heaven."  At the time I thought that was a bit severe, number of granules in effexor, but with the passing of years I've come to understand the wisdom of it.  This is all about keeping focused on what lies ahead ... God, heaven, the future.  Looking back at what has passed takes our focus off the future.

Plowed field.bmpI never understood the analogy of the plow until one day I was given the opportunity to plow a field.  The rancher told me to pick a spot on the horizon and just keep going straight towards it.  He told me that whatever I did, don't look back.  I started plowing that field.  At one point my perverse nature got the better of me and I decided there was no reason I couldn't look back.  Whoa!  That furrow ended up looking like a cooked spaghetti noodle -- it went all over the place.  There was nothing straight about it. Large dosage effexor, God has wisely given us the choice of taking a straight course towards Him.  It might be costly.  Then again weaving all over the place through life may be even more costly.  I'm going to try to keep my focus forward ... even through the costly moments of life.
