Manic Switch Effexor
0 Comments Published by russ August 25th, 2007 in Random Thoughts, Translation, WycliffeManic switch effexor, We're about half way through a three week trip to Oregon, Washington and California. Basically we are meeting with many of our ministry supporters, filling them in on what is going on in Bible translation and in our lives. But there is a subtle sub-theme that runs through our visits. We are also catching up on the lives of our dear friends. Lynda, who could have been an interrogator in a previous life, asks a zillion questions. Then she takes notes of kids and grandkids, manic switch effexor. And before we leave, we usually have a time of prayer for our friends. It energizes us and connects us in ways that would be impossible if this trip was only about raising support.
Last week we were with four generations of the Russell family. Wally and Ellen have been dear friends and prayer warriors for many years. Manic switch effexor, I went to school with Bruce and Lynda, and Lynda is the one who introduced me to the gospel. Rachel is their daughter and works at Wycliffe. Effexor drug withdrawal symptoms, She and Gage are restoring a fabulous historic home. And two weeks ago they brought Brinley Baxter into the world. Together they represent a dynasty of faith.
Earlier this week we spent two hours with Dick Anderson, manic switch effexor. I might not be a believer today if it had not been for Dick carting me to and from church when I was in middle school. He's 86 now and lives in an assisted care facility near Tumwater. His dear wife, June, is in a different facility to care for her condition. I was so blessed by the way he honors her. Manic switch effexor, They've been married nearly 63 years and he loves her deeply. It was such a privilege to spend those hours with Dick. At the end of the time, rather than offering to pray, I asked Dick to pray for us. I wanted to hear him pray one more time. Great choice, effexor and adrenal gland supplement. Nothing like being in the presence of a saint totally in love with his savior, manic switch effexor.
Last night we spent with a couple that has really been pulled through a knot hole this past year. He was deathly ill and in the hospital for more than five months. We prayed often for them during that time and it was such a pleasure to walk up and hug Bob and Linda last night. He is back at work nearly full time and doing amazingly well. Manic switch effexor, Don't tell me prayer doesn't work.
A week ago we were at an annual missions conference that is also a camping weekend. The incredible thing is that this is not a church run event. For fifty years (yes, that was FIFTY years) the Shulke family has sponsored the Shulke Missionary Conference on a part of their chicken farm converted to a camp ground. We were first there 31 years ago and have been back 5 or 6 times. We love it, manic switch effexor. But mostly we love the Shulkes and all the other folks we've been blessed to meet over the years/decades. These are lifelong friends and ministry partners.
Tomorrow I get the privilege of bringing the Sunday sermon at Lake City Community Church, the body that commissioned and sent us out in ministry over 31 years ago. Headaches from effexor, They have been an incredibly faithful and supportive church through all these years. In that time there have been five different pastors and who knows how many other people going through the church, but they have never forgotten us in their prayers, encouragement or support.
Next week we head down to California where we will see more of God's wonderful people who make it possible for us to remain in ministry. I feel a little bit like I am inside a sequel chapter to Hebrews 11 as we meet with these young and old heroes of the faith. We'll be blessed and hopefully we will leave a blessing in return.

Effexor Belgique

Effexor belgique, No, this isn't a scared cow, nor a genetically engineered one. But it is about the coolest map I've seen in a long time. Of course, it gives new definition to the phrase "to the uddermost parts of the earth." I got this as part of a set of meetings I've just come out of that dealt with missiology and globalization.
I am both brain dead and energized. These might seem like opposed states of mind, but it is where I am. For the past three days I've been meeting with a dozen other Wycliffe leaders from around the globe. These folks were all way smarter than me, so I had to mentally run to keep up with them. But the subject was exhilirating. The place of Bible translation in the grant scheme of missiology. We read some fantastic materials by authors like Kwame Bediako (Ghanaian), Lamin Sanneh (Gambian), Patrick Johnstone (British) and Harriet Hill (American). One of the things that these authors clearly declared is the importance of Bible translation to the Great Commission. As Bill Taylor (our guide for the days of meeting) said, "You can share the Gospel by mime, but you can't disciple by mime." That takes the Scriptures, coming off effexor xl.
The group was from Australia, Guatemala, Korea, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, South Africa, Effexor migraines, Switzerland and United States. Our Kenyan brother missed out for lack of a visa. One of the unheard voices though was that of women leaders. That will be rectified in November in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Sanneh, Bediako, Johnstone and Hill made convincing cases for the
imperative of vernacular Bible translation. For a person who has spent the past 30 years of my life in an organization dedicated to providing the Scriptures to people in their own language, this was like music to my ears. But I didn't need them to tell me that. I already knew it through being present at several ocassions when people received the first portions of God's Word in their own language. These are times of great celebration.
I remember my friend Angelo ... usually a serious and under control guy ... kissing the cover of the book and dancing around the room when I handed him the Gospel of Luke in his language. His joy was irrepressible. Of course, if I reflect upon that, it causes me to ask myself when was the last time I got that excited about the Word! (Ouch!!!), from effexor to celexa.

Is effexor a maoi inhibitor, A bunch of years ago a good friend of mine wrote an article called "The Six Foot Swath." Every day he walked the same route across a littered park to and from his office. It really bugged him that people didn't keep the park clean. He grumbled and complained, but that didn't make any difference along his route.
One day he decided that, although he could not clean up the entire park, he could "own" his six foot swath. So he began picking up the litter along his way. Eventually he had his six foot swath cleared and then it was fairly easy to maintain it that way. The rest of the place might be littered, how does effexor cause weight gain, but he had a clean and clear six foot swath to enjoy to and from the office.
The point was that we can't change everything around us, How does effexor feel, but we can influence that closest to us. And one never knows what the ripple effect of that will be.
This same friend was the leader of Wycliffe USA at the time. He grew convicted that he wasn't praying enough for the Bibleless peoples. So he and his wife picked a single group that had no access to God's Word and began praying daily for it. Out of that simple commitment grew a movement called the Bibleless Peoples Prayer Project. 24 years later and now there are over 32,000 people in the U.S. alone praying for Bibleless peoples. That's at least 10-12 individuals signed up for every language without Scripture. My friend's six foot swath grew to enormous proportions that span the globe and have eternal consequences, wellbutron vs effexor.
I wonder at times what swaths I am creating as I walk through life. I need to go pick up some litter.

Does Effexor Rx Cause Weight Gain

This is a question we hear from time to time. It is usually followed
Does effexor rx cause weight gain, by the question, "Wouldn't it be easier to teach people English?" Those are fair questions. Recently I read an article by Patrick Johnstone, editor of Operation World. It's always nice when someone else speaks for you, so I thought I'd put in a few quotes from his article, "Bible Translation and the Cross-Cultural DNA of the Church" from the January/February 2006 edition of Momentum Magazine (www.momentum-mag.org)
"Over the past year I have studied and meditated on the successes and failures of mission movements over history. I have come to some startling conclusions.". Recreational use of effexor. Prozac effexor combined. Effexor nerve pain."The widespread failure to translate and enculturate the Scriptures was a failure to effectively take the Gospel across cultural boundaries. The result was spasmodic expansion and even massive losses from Christianity to other religions and ideologies."
"The Scriptures are unique. The New Testament was written in Greek yet Jesus used Aramaic (related to Hebrew). Christianity is the only religion in which the original documents are written in a language other than that of its founder. This means that our original Scriptures contain a translation of the words of our Founder. What a confirmation of the imperative for further translations of His Word into every language!"
"One of the most sobering aspect of the latter weakness is to realize that over the centuries the major peoples that have most persecuted Christians have been those who were evangelized, but never had the Scriptures in their own language. The Huns, Arabs, Berbers, Kurds, Persians, Turks, Mongols all had heard something of the Gospel and some responded, but these peoples later became a scourge to the Church."
"The 21st century will possibly see the extinction of 2000 languages. The most effective preventative for this is the translation and use of the Scriptures. It gives added weight to the Vision 2025 of Wycliffe Bible Translators and other Bible agencies to see the initiation of translation work into every language now without the Bible and for which the speakers of that language desire it."
Wish I could have said it all that well. I'm just glad someone of Johnstone's stature made the statements. That's why we translate the Bible into the minority languages of the world.

Buy Effexor Xr Generic
0 Comments Published by russ June 2nd, 2006 in Africa, Fun Stuff, TranslationBuy effexor xr generic, Besides English (which I'm still working on) I have learned to speak Arabic, Swahili, German and Tzeltal (one of the Mayan languages), studied Greek and Hebrew, did a field in learning Thai, and can greet someone in Spanish, Bangala, Dinka, Toposa, Didinga, French, Maasai, Turkana, Murle, Tok Pisin and probably a few other fairly obscure languages.
When you hang around languages like that and learn a few words and phrases, you quickly also learn how many mistakes you can make. You better be able to laugh at yourself, because a lot of other people are going to be laughing at you ... so why not join in.
For instance, when I was learning Sudanese Colloquial Arabic I went to the market to buy eggs. I saw a woman sitting with a basket of eggs in front of her and in my best and mostly untested Arabic told her I would like to buy a dozen eggs, buy effexor xr generic. She looked at me blankly. So I did what most foreigners do when they are not understood --- I said it louder. Soon I was veritably shouting my request at this poor woman. Finally a young guy came over and rescued her. Buy effexor xr generic, I had changed one sound in the word for eggs and was requesting a dozen houses. Effexor decreased libido hormones additional, No wonder she didn't understand me. It could have been worse. By changing another sound I would have been asking for a dozen unmentionable parts of the male anatomy.
Sometimes the speakers of the language will indulge your ignorance figuring "he's just a dumb foreigner and doesn't know better." When traveling, a phrase that one must learn is "Where is the toilet?" I spoke reasonably good Swahili in Kenya. So when I took off to travel through eastern Congo where Swahili is also one of its trade languages, I figured I would be fine, buy effexor xr generic. From time to time I would ask "Wapi choo?" (Where is the toilet?) I always got an accurate response, so I didn't think anything more about it. Near the end of my travels a kind Congolese fellow finally took me aside and said in their country "weecee" (pronounced "way say" ... a borrowed term for WC [water closet]) is the correct term for toilet. "Choo" in their country was what one leaves in the toilet. Buy effexor xr generic, Can you imagine what was going through people's minds when I asked "Where's the poop?"
I reckon over the past thirty years of traveling in Latin America, Africa, Europe and the Pacific I've probaly provided lots of laughs, a few insults and maybe even some vulgarity to unsuspecting people as I have butchered their language in an atempt to communicate. But you know what ... they never really minded because they loved it that I would attempt to speak their language. It affirms them and gives them value, brain zaps when quitting effexor. This is especially important for minority language speakers who are often put down by the majority groups.
That's the great thing about working in Wycliffe, buy effexor xr generic. We get to show people that God desires to speak their language also. He loves them so much that He wants to communicate to them in their language and is deighted when they respond. I'll never forget the day I handed Angelo the first portion of Scripture ever written in Luwo (his language). It was the Gospel of Luke. Buy effexor xr generic, He danced, he shouted, he cried, he was overwhelmed that God desired to communicate in his language. We English speakers take our myriads of English translations for granted. We could read from a different English version every day of the year and never repeat one of them. The Angelos of the world in over 2500 languages are still waiting for God to speak His first word to them in their language.
Here's a good thing though. Seven years ago that number of languages was 3000, buy effexor xr generic. We live at a great moment in time. We are seeing the number of languages without any of God's Word decline at a rate unprecedented in human history. Bob nelson and effexor, Our goal is to see a translation project started in every language that needs it by the year 2025. In 1999 the rate of progress at that time meant it would take until 2150 before all those translation projects were started. In the past six and a half years we have seen the rate increase to the point where we are now on a 2038 trajectory. God willing, we hope to see that rate continue to increase to meet the goal of seeing those translation projects started by 2025.

Breastfeeding Effexor
0 Comments Published by russ March 27th, 2006 in Africa, Family, Translation, WycliffeBreastfeeding effexor, Last Wednesday at our office we held a celebration for the translation of 19 New Testaments and/or Bibles which had been completed in the past six months. It was a pretty amazing time. Completion of the translations took as little as three years to as long as 40 years. One visitor was Mary Walker, who with her husband completed TWO New Testaments.
Of special significance to me was that one of the New Testaments was for the Mundu of southern Sudan. I got to carry the Sudanese flag in while Amy followed with the Mundu New Testament. Although I don't speak one word of Mundu, I hung around this project a lot through my work in the support and administration of the Sudan Branch.
I remember making a trip to Munduland together with translator Dorothea Jeffrey. We flew in after an absence of seven years. In the previous eighteen months the town had been under siege. The people had missed 2-3 successive harvests .., effexor methamphetamine lab test. devastating for subsistance farmers. As we prepared to make the trip we debated about whether we should take two small foot lockers of Scriptures and songbooks that had been translated she Dorothea had left the area. We knew there was hunger and illness in the area, but the small aircraft had very limited space. If we took the books we could not take anything else. In the end we decided that the unique thing we could bring to the Mundu that no one else could was the newly translated materials. Effexor alternative, As we circled the tiny grass airstrip we saw a greeting party awaiting us and wondered, "Will they be disappointed that we didn't bring food, medicine or clothing?" After we landed they greeted us and then asked, "Did you bring any Scriptures?" I guess they knew what was truly valuable, effexor xr 150 side effects.
